Features 2-Phase Expression Technology

The Freestyle pump features the two phase expression technology.  This technology is supposed to mimic the suckling motions that a baby produces while eating.  The first phase, which last approximately two minutes, is a faster pumping which is used to get the milk flowing.  While the second phase, produces the slower, deeper sucking motion to express the milk from the breast.

Hands Free Pumping Allows Busy Mom’s More Freedom

If your a busy mom on the go, then this is the pump for you.  With the hands free technology, you can pump virtually anywhere.  You can pump on your morning commute; however, you do have to be careful that you don’t overflow the bottles into your lap while driving.  But it is possible to pump on the way to work.  Or if your stuck at your desk and can’t sneak away to pump, again this breast pump would allow you the option to pump at your desk while you work. The pump has a support belt and extension allows you to put the pump controls around your waist. Also included are two small yellow straps and two large grey straps, which attach to your bra and the breast shields.  Then you will open the flap on your nursing bra or tank top, and insert the clasp into your bra.  (The pump includes 4 replacement bra adapters for your convenience.)  Next you will center the breast shield over your nipple.  Then attach the bottom clips to the bra band, adjust as necessary.  Then adjust the length of the strap to achieve a tight fit and attach the tubing to the back of the breast shield. It  has an easy to read display(LCD Screen).  It has a backlight, which comes in handy during the late night pumping sessions.  It also includes a memory feature, which can store your favorite settings that you desire for use in the future. The Medela Freestyle has a one year warranty on the motor and a 90-day limited warranty.

Contains a Rechargeable Battery

This pump contains a rechargeable battery which enhances the pumps portability.  With this breast pump, you can easily pump anywhere since you don’t have to rely on finding a clean place to pump and a wall outlet to plug in the AC adapter.   The battery provides around 3 hours of use before needing to be recharged.

Having Spare Breast Pump Parts and Accessories Can Save You From Engorged Breasts

Don’t forget to purchase a few extra breast pump parts and accessories such as membranes.  The membranes need to be replaced often so having a few extra on hand will save you an immediate trip to the store.  If there is a tear in the membrane, it will greatly reduce the suction.  Thus, reducing the amount of milk during the pumping session.
