Do you use baby wipes for other purposes? Baby wipes or wet wipes can come in handy even if you don’t have a baby in your house. If you have been to the store, there isn’t many products on the shelf for wipes, even the new wipes for the restroom, don’t take up as much shelf space as baby wipes do. Last night I was at the store picking up some more wet wipes for the house because we were out of them. I decided to go with Walmart Huggies Wipes, after all, how could you resist the new cute Disney designs. I picked up the Huggies refills since I already have a few empty tubs around the house.

Even though my youngest is now 4 years old, there are plenty of reasons why I keep a few containers of wet wipes around the house.  Besides that kids may outgrow diapers but they don’t outgrow messes. Here are a few things that I use the wet wipes around the house:

Cleaning Dirty Faces and Hands

My youngest son is still the master of making a huge mess at the table especially when we have spaghetti or pasta. You know that red face that I am talking about. Right? After dinner time is over, I use a wet wipe to clean off his icky face and hands.

Clean Up After Using the Bathroom

Has your child ever had a messy bowel movement? Grab a wet wipe and a plastic sack so that you can clean up your child’s bottom without giving them a bath. Don’t flush baby wipes, they will clog the pipes in your home. Always toss them in the trash.

Use as a Cleaning Cloth

Baby wipes are great for cleaning up messes around the house and in the car even though they are wet. I am guilty of using baby wipes to clean off the Wii controller, the dash and console in the car, wiping down the kitchen table or high chair, wipe down the bathroom counter, phone, tablet, laptop screen, tv screen, and clean up other messes around the house. It is gentle enough to use on screens and it will remove your child’s sticky hand prints.

Freshen Up

I don’t like being sweaty, especially, during the summer time. I sometimes will use a Huggies® baby wipe to freshen up when I can’t get in the shower.

Remove Ink and Crayons

Wet wipes are great for removing ink from many surfaces including your hands. Do use caution when using wet wipes on the wall, depending on the paint you might end up taking the paint off too.

Make Up Remover

Don’t have any make up remover? Simply grab a wet wipe and use it to remove your make up.

Stains

I was eating lunch while working on this post and dropped some food on my shirt. I grabbed a wet wipe and cleaned up my clothes. I also use baby wipes to clean up spills and spot clean things around the house, even the carpet and couches.

Skip the “Tide® to Go Stain Eraser”

You can skip the Tide® to Go Stain Eraser and use a baby wipe on any spills including lipstick. Simply grab a wet wipe and spot clean the stain.

Clean Up After the Animals

I use baby wipes to clean up after my dogs if they make a mess in my house. They have had accidents in the house or gotten sick to their stomach, the wipes make clean up a breeze.

Remove Mud from Your Animals

My dog decided to play in the mud this morning and I didn’t have time to give him a bath. I grabbed a wipe and cleaned him up. It worked great and removed the mud so that he didn’t get it on my furniture.

Removing Dingleberries

Does your animal ever get dingleberries? Yes, the dreaded poop hanging from your dog or cat’s bottom. Grab a wipe and remove the dingleberry.

Remove Deodorant Stains

My oldest son was getting ready last week and he accidentally got some deodorant on his shirt. I told him to grab a wet wipe to clean it up.

Shine your Shoes

Are your dress shoes looking dull? You can use a wet wipe to shine your shoes in a pinch.

Camping

My mom always packed wet wipes in our camper to use while we are out camping. They are great for cleaning up when there isn’t hot water around to use or for wiping down. You can even toss them in a backpack and use them to clean up hands and faces after lunch or after using the restroom.

Don’t Have a Kleenex

If you don’t have any Kleenex handy, grab a wet wipe to wipe down your child’s nose. You can also use wet wipes to blow your nose. They are gentle and won’t hurt your nose unlike paper towels.

Use Dried Out Baby Wipes as a Dust Cloth

You can dry out a few baby wipes and replace your dust clothes. Baby wipes are much cheaper and they can even be rinsed and reused. Plus, they are cheaper than those expensive dust clothes. Once they are worn out or too soiled to use, simply toss them in the trash and dry out a few more.

Remove Paint of Hands/Feet After Craft Time

About a year ago, we made a butterfly craft and I painted my son’s hands and feet. I used a baby wipe to clean off the paint after we finished our craft.

Pacifier Wipes

If you have an infant, you can use a baby wipe to clean off your child’s pacifier when it falls on the floor. The alcohol in the wipes will kill any bacteria on the pacifier. Just make sure that it dries before giving the pacifier back to your child.

I haven’t bought wipes in a few years but they sure do come in handy. I friend of mine had them at our kids soccer game and they helped clean up the dirt and sticky ice cream hands after the game!

I still buy wipes for the kids to use on the go. They are really handy to have in one’s handbag.

Wet wipes have a lot of uses. I use it to clean my bowling balls as well after playing.

And I thought I was the only one who uses baby wipes as a shoe cleaner! I use it to wipe my desk, too. 🙂

I couldn’t agree more that baby wipes have a lot of uses that make them a household essential, whether you have a kid who has outgrown diapers or not! I stick with a brand of wipes that’s biodegradable though and has a list of ingredients I agree with more.

Those are great uses. I used them to freshen up and remove crayons
