9 Horrible Fashion Trends For Kids

Monster High

Monster High collections are definitely not the ones that could be voted up. The sexy styles promoted through the dolls are not exactly what the parents would want their daughter to see in. With skimpy clothes and heavy make-up, the trend thankfully went out of fashion.

String Bikinis

Why would anyone want their child to grow up too soon? Still not past the diaper stage, it is shocking to dress the child up in a bikini.

Lingerie For Little Ones?

Is it not stretching the limits of tolerance towards sexualizing girls? Lingerie is available for infants as young as three months old. It can have a deep impact on a child’s perception of fashion and beauty. Sexualizing children is not going to help develop a healthy society.

Low Rise Jeans

Why wear jeans at all if they are going to reveal what the kids wear beneath. Women who wear low rise at least know what to expect but unsuspecting kids are not to be the target of the manufacturers. It would be a boon to have this fashion out of sight.

Tube Top Dress

Definitely not the right choice for kids that run around. The risk of the dress slipping down is more and you naturally would not want your child’s chest exposed.

Stuffy Clothes

Just as lingerie is bad for kids so are stuffy clothes. It is real bad to have tiny tots dressed up in formal style that makes them uncomfortable. The best way to dress up a child would be to make the kid wear soft and breathable dresses. Make it as simple as possible with a view to make your child comfortable. Gone are the days when stuffy dresses were trendy. Not anymore please.

Safety And Comfort Win Over Fashion

The market sees many a trend but those who outlive the normal duration in the peak of fashion are those outfits designed with safety and comfort in mind. Your kids need them most. Ensure that you make a perfect pick and give your child the best.

It is getting harder and harder to buy clothes for my daughter. Thankfully she’s on board with my clothing rules, but I’m not sure how much longer that will last. I had the worst time trying to find her some beginner bras a little while back. Everything had designs or padding or bling on it!! She sure as heck better not be showing them to anyone!! Why do they need to look so fancy??

I remember buying my daughter beginner bras a few years ago. We opted to get the sports bras because she didn’t need extra padding and it worked out great until she was able to buy regular bras.

Lingerie!?! Oh my, thank goodness I haven’t seen this, if I did, I may have words with the shop owner! I think it’s GROSS how short the girls’ shorts are these days. We had such a hard time finding shorts for my girls that weren’t “booty shorts”
I’m all about expressing yourself, but I’m not about showing it all off, especially at such a young age. Thank goodness my 12 yo is not into that risqué style, I hope she never will be.

My sisters usually pass down their clothes to my daughter and some of their shorts are a bit shorter than I would like for her to wear. I think its tacky. I get that knee length shorts are out but what happened to mid thigh.

I have asked my own daughter to change clothes on more than one occasion because I didn’t like what she was wearing.

Ugh! Tube tops and low rise jeans. I'll never understand them!

I sometimes wonder if even the adult females who weat some of the fashions are aware of the unwanted attention they will be getting. To dress a child in these type clothes–I think not!

I agree Michele, I am trying to teach my own daughter that she doesn’t need to wear some of the crazy trends for that reason. It is gross. The kids are innocent in some ways and are influence by the big designers who are making skimpy clothing. I hope that someone stands up and fights to keep our kids as innocent as long as possible.

Don’t forget those stupid silly-bands that cut off the circulation at the wrist!

Wow, I didn’t realize that kids were wearing them that tight. I know that my daughter enjoys making the bracelets out of rubber bands.
