I got married at a fairly young age and when I got divorced, I had a hard time adjusting to single life and being a single parent. It took me a few years before I decided to allow God to use my circumstances to draw closer to him. God helped me heal and helped me understand my purpose. In fact, I had to learn to love myself before I was ready to open up my heart and deal with the heartaches that are often encountered while dating. I wanted to share with you a book that I just read, if you find yourself single and struggling with your identity and purpose.

Singled Out: Finding Contentment with Just You and Lord is a great book and study guide for women who are struggling with single life. As a woman who has struggled in the past, I could easily relate to the topics that were mentioned in this book. I highly recommend that if you are single, newly single, divorced, or widowed that you read this book. This book was “written with the sincere desire of encouraging you in your walk with the Lord, motivating you to search your heart, and challenging you to wholeheartedly commit your life to Him! Remember, regardless of our relationship status, we must be single-hearted in our service to Christ — our Savior and our First Love.” (except from the back of the book).
This book points out that we aren’t guaranteed anything in this life, including a spouse but with Christ we have hope and security. You can use this book as a self study guide or if you have a women’s bible study for single ladies it would be a perfect study guide to do as a group. After each chapter, the author has a series of questions for you to answer and reflect on the chapter you just read.
