Hello, I’m a work at home father of a beautiful 5 year old daughter named Alexandra. Working from home has given me the opportunity to stay in touch with my beautiful family. My daughter is a special needs child but with the help from my fiancée Anna, her welfare and life has improved over the last few years. It is important as a family, whether a single mom, single dad or with both parents to make time for their children. Balancing work and play with one another is very important to the health and bond of the family.
It does not matter if you work at home, attend school or even work outside; making time for the family should be a priority. I’ve learned this fact over course of my growth as a father. Play time can reduce stress on both parents, provide encouragement to the son or daughter to help them explore their imaginations and create a bond stronger than titanium. There is nothing better than having the love of the child, even if you work 60 hours or more a week. Take a small break and spend time reading, playing a game or even using imagination. The little stuff that we do is awesome and it means so much for our children.

I like the way you break your day into blocks. That’s such a great idea! Thanks for sharing such a lovely post. 🙂
Yes, it is a great idea. Thank you for sharing Alexandra
Its very hard to balance the time between work and family, but it is very important to!
Yes, specialty with a child with special needs. Thanks for the words. 😀
It isn't an easy task and I haven't figured out quite how to balance it all evenly either.
Mike, it sounds like you have a great schedule for completing work tasks and spending good quality time with your daughter. Thanks for sharing.
I like the idea of block scheduling – very helpful. Thanks, Mike!
I try to do this as well but some days I don’t accomplish very much.
It sounds like you found a great balance and have the opportunity to be there for your daughter.:) Very awesome:)
It's always great when you can run and take care of your kids at the drop of a hat and not have to worry about what your co-workers always think.
I guess, I never worry what people think unless it’s a client on the work I’ve done. I focus on my family and faith.
Excellent article! Kids spell love ‘T-I-M-E’stays in my mind always…where there is the will there will be a way!
I try to attempt working when my son is taking a nap or after he goes to bed. However, that isn’t always possible. Working late has it’s own set of disadvantages as well.
Great advice Mike. It took becoming a work at home grandma for me to learn this lesson. So glad you are sharing this with other parents…and grandparents who work from home and have little ones around. Balance is key in all matters of life for sure.
I agree finding that balance is a must. Thank you for sharing Carla.
That's so fabulous! My husband and I both work at home, and he is so present in our son's life, it is great 🙂 It's really important for kids to have their fathers around, just being around 🙂
I agree, that it is important for children to have both parents involved in a child's life, especially, a positive male role model.
Yes, sadly with one parent or more leaving the home, it can quickly cause problems with a child’s mind.
Family time is a top priority even for those of us whose children are grown and away from home.. spouses need time as well.
Yes it is but for those who have little kids, making time now is more important to establishing good habits.
What a great schedule for getting work done and spending time with your daughter. Love the blocks of time, I am using the same idea 🙂
Awesome Delia.
A big congrats to you! It is so important to also take time with the family and kids. It is a must for a balance life.
