Rush to the Doctor?
A diaper rash rarely warrants a visit to the doctor. However, if it looks infected or is accompanied by a fever you should see the doctor. If it doesn’t go away within three to four days, you should also make an appointment.
Dealing with It
Keep Skin Dry
If your child has a diaper rash, you will want to check your baby’s diaper more often and change it if it is soiled even a little bit.
Wash Your Baby’s Bottom with Water
Every time you change a diaper, wash the area gently with a soft cloth and warm water.
Avoid Baby Wipes
You can use natural baby wipes, but don’t use anything with alcohol or propylene glycol.
Breast Milk
Don’t knock it till you try it. This is a secret weapon for moms. Rub a few drops of breast milk on your baby’s bottom, and let it dry before putting on the diaper.
Coconut Oil
Virgin coconut oil is another miracle worker. Apply a very thin layer to the rash, after you wash the area.
Oatmeal
Put plain rolled oats in a blender on high. It will turn into a fine powder. Add a little to their bath water, and let them soak for 15 minutes.
Apple Cider Vinegar
There are few things that apple cider vinegar can’t cure. Dilute 1 teaspoon with half cup of water, and dab it on. It has anti-bacterial agents. Make sure you are buying an organic product with the “mother” in it.
Environment
Your baby will likely be a little cranky, with good reason. Keep them in a soothing environment. Leave their diaper off for a bit after changing.
As an experienced mom, you should treat your baby’s diaper rash as soon as you notice it for best results. If you have a persistent diaper rash, please call your child’s doctor because the diaper rash could be caused by bacteria or yeast and will need special treatment in order to get rid of it.

Wish I would have read this 3 years ago, lol. Would have saved me a lot of wondering! I figured out most of these but not the New Foods one. I didn’t really think about that being a cause. Nice to know though.
Yeah, I wish that I had this information when I was a first time parent too. FYI, I have a bunch of new giveaways live on my blog.
My son has super sensitive skin, and had diaper rash quite often back when he was still on nappies. Good thing his skin isn’t as sensitive now as it was back then.
Yeah nappies are a great breeding ground for bacteria and yeast. I am glad his skin isn’t sensitive now.
