Scarf
A scarf is a great way to add a pop of color or dress up an outfit. Simply adding a scarf can turn your outfit from drab to fabulous. The scarf can be wrapped around your neck in several different ways or even knotted. Test out a few of these 25 ideas on how to tie a scarf and find out which way looks best with the outfit that you are trying to dress up.
Boots
Boots are a popular must have during the winter months because they are stylish while keeping your feet dry. There are tons of great options to choose to fit your style, from over the knee to ankle boots. Uggs are still popular but style experts at Seventeen magazine say that people have run out of ways for them to be worn so unless you are wearing them with a dress, they recommend going with a sleek, slimmer looking boot.
Costume Jewelry
I was lucky to meet with a personal stylist in April and one thing she suggested to me to add some costume jewelry to my wardrobe. It doesn’t have to be expensive pieces so don’t be afraid to search the clearance racks too. You will want to find some necklaces or earrings that would add a pop of color to your outfit. You can mix and match the jewelry too.
Skip the Hoodie and Add a Cardigan to Your Wardrobe
Skip the hoodie and go for a more sophisticated look by adding a cardigan or jacket to your teenager’s wardrobe. These will be great pieces for your teenager especially when they go to a job interview too. The Cardigan is a lightweight sweater that is usually worn open. A cardigan is light weight and is perfect for a brisk fall day. There are tons of great colors and styles to choose from at Nordstrom or other retailers.

Great guide. And I am wanting a boyfriends jeans with a lot of attitude for a long time now. I guess your tips apply to us adults too!
Yes, the trends can apply for adults too. I hope you find the right pair of boyfriend jeans.
Great tips! Boyfriend jeans are a wardrobe staple around here. 🙂
With our school district’s strict clothing rules, jeans and sweaters are pretty much what the girls wear all year. I actually like that it’s simple! I don’t plan to recommend your article to my daughter — she needs no excuse to ask for more shoes. 🙂
I haven’t heard the term boyfriend jeans but my husband used to laugh and say skinny jeans on guys was “their sister or girlfriends jeans”. Thanks for the great tips, I have two teens that care about how they look.
Great tips and not only for teenagers 😉 I´m not really into this boyfriend jeans trend and I probably won´t be purchasing any bf style jeans either.
Getting versatile pieces is definitely the key to keeping more in the bank when it comes to clothes shopping.
