Feng Shui Nursery Tips for your Babys Room

Selection and the Position of the Furniture

When you decorate your baby’s room in accordance with the principles of Feng Shui, the furniture selection and its arrangement must be taken into account. The crib should be set in a way that the child sees when a person enters the room. The headboard should be placed against the wall facing north, which represents peace (Southwest and Northeast are good options). The baby’s feet shouldn’t be pointing directly to the door. In general, choose bright and light colors of the furniture for your new room remodeling. Keep sharp objects far from the cradle and set up a comfortable chair in the corner of the room. This decoration is intended to provide a sense of comfort, security, relaxation and to create peaceful energy.

Color is Important

Many future parents decorate the baby’s room with cheerful bright colors, but according to Feng Shui these colors are too stimulating for a young baby. The whole world is new to them and it is important not to overdo it to ensure the proper rest for your little one. White and pastel colors (green, pink, blue, orange and red) are the best choice for your baby’s room according to Feng Shui rules. The Ceiling should remain white no matter what colors are the walls. The bright pastels are considered “the yin” colors and they encourage calmness and relaxation. In general, the white color is excellent, because it is associated with creativity.

Movement

Air circulation is directly related to the positive, relaxing vibrations. Fans can be used to move the air around the room and create a dynamic energy. Another way to create movement is by hanging details next to an opened window. There are also “negative movements” that may be caused by electricity in the room. It is best not to use electrical appliances that can make noise and disturb the tranquility of your baby’s room.

Lighting

Lighting by Feng Shui must be balanced. It should not be too dark or too light in the room, because it can affect the baby’s sleep. Curtains are a better choice than blinds because it allows you to adjust the amount of natural light at any time. Soft light is important to gently stimulate babies. Install different lighting for the day time, the evening and the night time.

Feng Shui has many principles and many people consult experts for professional advice. But if you want to add a little “Zen” to your baby’s room or do some home remodeling yourself by Feng Shui principles, just follow these seven basic guidelines and make your baby’s room place of comfort for both of you.

I probably didn’t decorate my kids rooms to their full potential either. I do have curtains in the baby’s room because its hot in the summer. He gets the west sun. I never heard of Feng Shui until I shared Diana’s suggestions.
