Pregnancy really isn’t all that glamorous especially during the final trimester. If you are pregnant and approaching your third trimester, you will probably discover that you will have light bladder leakage aka pee your pants when you laugh, cough, or sneeze. This happened to me during all three pregnancies and I was always afraid of it happening at work especially if I didn’t have any spare clothes in my car. I really wish that I had met SAM (Super Absorbent Material) – Poise Microliners when I was pregnant with my children. SAM would have protected my panties from pregnancy incontinence or light bladder leakage when my baby decided to kick, punch, or jump on my bladder.

Stress incontinence is the technical term for bladder leakage during pregnancy and unfortunately it can stick with you after you have your baby. Don’t worry it is totally normal during your final trimester to pee your pants when you cough, laugh, sneeze, or if your baby moves in the right way. It isn’t glamourous and its quite embarrassing when a co-worker is staring at you while you are crossing your legs as tightly as possible to avoid peeing your pants while sneezing. I remember doing this several times when I was in my final trimester with my youngest son. I also had to run and change my clothes several times, thankfully, when it happened I was at home.
Midwives and OB/GYN’s usually encourage expecting moms to do Kegal exercises. I remember doing my Kegal exercises and it still didn’t help with preventing bladder leakage. Doing your kegal exercises will help build your pelvic floor muscles but if you still find yourself with wet panties during to pregnancy or urinary incontinence, try wearing Poise Microliners to help keep your panties dry and leave you feeling confident especially around your co-workers or in public.
Also, if you notice that your panties have an ammonia smell at the end of the day. You are more than likely experiencing light bladder leakage especially if you have have children. Light bladder leakage is typical if you have had a vaginal birth and it happens as you get older but you should visit with your doctor to rule out a potential medical problem. In the mean time, you can wear Poise Microliners to protect your panties and in the mean time while you are waiting for your appointment start doing Kegal excercises to help strengthen your pelvic floor muscles.
Poise Microliners come in two different sizes: Regular Length 5.9 in (15 cm) and Long 6.9 in (17.5 cm). The liners are made of a super absorbent material that locks away moisture and smell. They are flexible and move with you so that you can continue living an active lifestyle and you don’t have to worry about the liner shifting or wadding up. Poise has a full range of products for all of your bladder protection needs. Get your free sample or coupon for Poise Mircoliners. I was a criminal attorney during my first pregnancy, and spent a considerable amount of time in the courtroom. I was always terrified of that leakage, especially during jury trials. Alas, that was 21 years ago, long before this product was available! Thanks for sharing — pregnant women today are so lucky. 😉
Yes, pregnant women are so lucky now. There are so many cool items for both pregnant mamas and babies.
Thankfully no I did not, but I did have a friend who whenever she would sneeze would real quick cross her legs. One day I asked her why and she told she thinks the baby is against her bladder because she has been having leakage issues :(.
I remember doing this too. I never thought about getting something for bladder leakage or at least wearing a pad.
Good to know there is something out there to help pregnant women with that, good info thanks for sharing
Your welcome. 🙂
I have never been pregnant so that did not cause the light bladder leakage I sometimes experience. Age is doing it to me. Thank you for the information about Poise.
Yes, my age is against me as well. Plus, having three kids didn’t help my situation.
It’s one of the side effects you get after being pregnant, it’s not the best ting to experience.
Nope, it isn’t something that is talked about. I hope pregnant mama’s find this post helpful.
oh yeppers after babies I had to by stock in pantie liners…then I found poise GOD SEND!! =D
Yes, I don’t think liners would work as well as the poise.

Good to raise awareness. I’ve never been pregnant and had no idea this sort of thing happens. Seems like there are lots of issues women have to manage in pregnancy.
