The Ultimate Cheat Sheet On Ways To Enjoy Final Month Of Pregnancy

Find a Hobby

Instead of focusing on when you are go into labor, try to relax and enjoy those final days of pregnancy.  After it is over, you will miss those tiny kicks, punches, rolls, and jabs.  The best way to help pass the time is to find a hobby that you enjoy such as: crocheting, knitting, making hair bows, scrap booking, ect  These project will keep you busy and make you feel that you have accomplished something.

Read a Good Book

Snuggle up in bed or on the couch with a good book.  I know that you are probably thinking that I am crazy for suggesting this since most of you are uncomfortable.  However, once baby comes you won’t be reading very many books.

Catch Up on Sleep

Sleep as much as possible, so that you are well rested for the big day.  Once labor begins, you could be in labor for a few hours or days, so it is best to get as much rest as you can.  During early labor, try to sleep or rest in between contractions while you have the chance.  After you arrive to the hospital, the nurses and doctors usually come in several times to check on you, making it hard to get much rest

With my first pregnancy I was so happy being pregnant I didn’t want it to end! The second time around I had a scheduled C-section. So I never really tried to make myself go into labor, although I might have the second time. I couldn’t move, sleep, or even breathe!

Each subsequent pregnancy does seem harder.

I said, “Oh yes!” before I even read your post. What do you think about women whose births are
“scheduled” these days. I don’t like that at all. It just isn’t natural.

    1. Christy Avatar

I get “scheduled” labors for medical circumstances but not for convenience.

Catch up on sleep is the best advice EVER! And go to the movies – that’s one thing I miss about not having kids in tow.

Yes, you will miss the sleep, especially, if you have multiples or more.

My first baby was born right on her due date, and then the four after that were all late, late, LATE. Every day past your due date feels like a week. So figuring out a way to pass the time is a great idea. After the first one, of course, taking care of the older kids was my hobby. 😉

Both of my boys were born late, my oldest was born a few days early.

Great post. I am one of those who totally wants it to end by the end of my pregnancy. My 2nd was scheduled, but with my first, I ate spicy food, went walking, made hubby have sex with me… all in one day. Something must have worked because I went into labor that night 🙂
I think catching up on sleep is a great tip. One thing I’m glad I did before my 2nd was born was cook and freeze enough meals for a couple weeks. I was able to recover and not have to worry about cooking.

    Have a great week!
