Happy Mother’s Day – Please Come Share What You Love About Being A Mom?

Happy Mother's Day - Uplifting FamiliesI remember when I was pregnant with my very first baby in 1996 and on Mother’s Day that year, it dawned on me that I was going to be a mom later than year.  I was excited, scared, and nervous at the same time.  If you are a mom, I am sure that you can relate to all of those feelings.  It is scary to think that you will be responsible for a tiny human being and that you have to raise them without an instruction manual.  Once you give birth, it seems as if your mommy instincts take over and it is amazing how much you already know how to do to care for a tiny baby.

I wanted to take the time and share with you a few things that I love about being a mom to my 3 amazing and wonderful children:

  • They give me a reason to smile each and every day.
  • A hug or a kiss from them can instantly change my outlook on life.
  • My kids are willing to help around the house and take care of me when I am sick.
  • That they bring me home beautiful artwork through out the year and not just on Mother’s day.
  • I loved them while they were still in the womb, making their presence known with their tiny jabs, punches, kicks, and doing summersaults all hours of the day.
  • There is never a dull moment in our household but I wouldn’t change it for the World.
  • I am thankful that they each have their own personality.
  • They know how to make me laugh.
  • I love when they were toddlers and followed me around the house, one day every mom will understand it.  As a toddler they always want to be around you but when they turn into teenagers, they are often times shooing you away.
  • As a mom, my best piece of advice is to “Cherish Each and Every Moment They Grow Up Fast.”

I wanted to thank each one of you mom’s who take the time out of your day to read my blog posts. I am thankful for each and everyone of you, and without your love and support my blog wouldn’t be successful.  I hope that each MOM out there has a Happy Mother’s Day and that it is filled with love and happiness.

Please share why you love being a mom?

I love the joy that my kids bring to my life. When everything else is going wrong they are always there to brighten my day. It’s amazing what a hug from your child can do to make you feel better.

the joy, laughter, hugs, smiles… I love the part of being Mom that challenges me in ways I never knew possible. I love bath time bubbles and hearing the giggle snorts as they play and splash. I love having dinner time with them and hearing their stories or just sitting with them as they talk about their favorite things. I love the love –it is so pure and sweet. I love the gentleness that motherhood… my children have given me. I could go on –and on.

Happy, Happy Mothers Day to you.

How sweet! I remember my first mother’s day – the one when I was pregnant with my first child. SUch an eye opener, right? Beautiful post – and so true, that we have to embrace and appreciate every moment … they DO grow up right before our eyes. Almost scary and certainly bittersweet.
Well Happy belated Mother’s Day to all you and to everyone!

Having kids has pushed me to become a better me. Now that I’m approaching the end of day-to-day physical parenting (college bound, they are), I am enjoying the transition to friendship.

What I love about being a mom is that I am my best self now. I have never tried harder to be all of the potential that was brewing inside of me. My husband sees my best efforts, unconditional love, and fierceness about our family. I am an advocate for my child. In becoming a mom I have discovered a strength that I never knew that I had…

Thank you for sharing Cynthia. It is amazing how mom’s take on the role of wife and mommy.

We have something in common, we were both pregnant in 1996. My teen daughter can be a challenge…the moods. I think the hardest thing right now is just learning to let go and to let her feel her oats

That is cool Lisa. Teens are fun and challenging but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
