My Mom Wasn't Afraid to Let Me Play With Her Jewelry

Most of you know that my mom passed away in 2010 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. My mom always encouraged me to be creative when I was playing. She would always let me wear her costume jewelry and her high heels around the house. I usually wore a certain pair of her high heels because they were my favorite (makes me wish that I had photos). Playing dress up made me feel like a princess and I loved pretending I was a teacher. If you have a daughter, don’t be afraid to let her play dress up too. Let her wear your costume jewelry and high heels. Help your daughter enjoy using their imagination while they are playing. I have noticed that most kids don’t play the way I did growing up. Kid’s today are so focused on technology.

Anyhow, back to my story about jewelry. When I was younger, I had a ton of jewelry that my mother bought me. I had costume jewelry, chunky jewelry, charms, necklaces, toe rings, ear cuffs, and more! You name it, I probably had it! I also had a friend who made and sold jewelry, but she was telling me that the supplies were getting expensive and she wasn’t making enough of a profit to keep her business above water. I immediately thought to tell her about wholesale jewelry charms by Teeda! Teeda offers a TON of charms (among other cool jewelry products) to you at a wholesale price, and they even tell you what the retail price is so you can see just how much you are saving by ordering through them.

I like to plan my jewelry selection based on my activity for that day. If I am going to a sporting event, I will usually wear sports-related earrings and a charm bracelet matching the sport. If I am feeling funky, I will wear some wire armbands! Those are always great conversation starters and they look beautiful and unique.

As always, jewelry is usually a great gift as well. I love when I get jewelry. It is such a great expression of personality and also who you are. I can often guess what type of person someone is by the jewelry he or she is wearing. If a woman is wearing jewelry that has animal print on it or bright and vibrant colors, she has a fun and wild personality. If she’s wearing some small and dainty diamond earrings, she is probably more serious and quiet.

Jewelry has so much potential and can be used for a variety of reasons and purposes. Teeda is a great place to start if you are looking for some cool jewelry or some product to jumpstart a jewelry business!

Oh, what a sweet memory. Your mom sounds like she was a great lady.

My mom didn’t wear much jewelry, but she was always willing to let us play dress up in her closet. 🙂

You must miss her, I can only imagine. I was only allowed to wear my mom’s jewelry whenever we were going to attend a formal gathering.

I wasn’t allowed to play with my mom’s jewelry but that didn’t stop me. It’s crazy how much sentimental value a single charm can hold.

I always played with my Moms jewelry. I grew up with brothers until my sis came at age 13 so I was ok to touch her jewelry

There is very little in life cuter than a child dressed up in high heels and jewelry. They always look extremely proud of themselves with big grins on their faces. Who wouldn’t let their child have that experience?
