I must be obsessed with Bluetooth speakers because we have quite a collection of them. As a part time leader in the band at church they often come in handy to have in my gear bag that I carry around with my guitar so that I can let other musicians and singers in the band listen to something new we are learning. I also often find myself using a portable speaker when outside playing or working and it is perfect to connect to my phone at my day job so that I’m not using the company network to stream my music.

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to receive a new speaker for review purposes. It came from a company I have never heard of named Kinivo and from this alone I honestly did not have high expectations for this speaker but I was in for a surprise. As soon as I received it, I set about getting it charged up and ready to test. The battery had a partial charge when I received it but I went ahead and plugged it in and got it charged up the rest of the way. Easy Set Up

I simply used my phone’s Bluetooth options screen to search for and pair with the speaker. I tried streaming music from several different sources including one of my favorite online radio stations and the sound that came out of this device astonished me. It is different from the other smaller speakers that I have owned because it plays music in stereo.
Excellent Bass Sound for such a Small Speaker
For such a small speaker the bass response is impressive. It has a soft plastic or rubber casing around it that keeps the vibrations from the device from bouncing right off the edge of the table. It is easily comparable some of the higher end Bluetooth speakers on the market that I have tested in stores.
