Other Bed Wetting Solutions
There are other options for you to use for your child at home to protect the mattress from your child’s accident. I personally use a waterproof sheet on my child’s bed so that I don’t have to worry about accidents from bed wetting or vomiting from soiling the mattress. However, if you aren’t comfortable with your child sleeping on a plastic sheet underneath their sheets you can try these ideas.
- Encourage them to use the bathroom right before bedtime.
- Eliminate drinking after a certain time in the evening.
- Try GoodNites* TRU-FIT* Underwear
- Avoid giving your child caffeine at dinner time.
- Get your child a bed wetting alarm.
- Try using a water proof mattress liner.
- Use medical disposable underpads on their bed.
- Try using disposable night time underwear.
- Set your child’s alarm to get up in the middle of the night to urinate.
- Determine if they are taking any medications that could cause them to wet the bed such as medications that make them drowsy.
- Water proof under wear.
- If they are having accidents during the day as well, your child might be distracted and waiting to long to go to the bathroom.
When to Call the Doctor
It is time to visit with your child’s doctor if they are over the age of 7, to rule out a potential medical issue. There are several medical issues that could cause your child to wet the bed.
- Snoring
- Small bladder
- Inability for your child to recognize that they have a full bladder
- Hormone Imbalance
- Increase of stress either at home or in school
- Medication
- Urinary tract or kidney infection
- Sleep apnea
- Diabetes
- Chronic constipation
- and other issues as determined by your child’s doctor

Those are great tips. Mine never wet the bed unless they were really sick, but I know little ones who do. It’s frustrating for the parents, I know.
I have three kids and so far the only one that is struggling in my family is my older son. Bed wetting ran in my mom’s side of the family so it isn’t really anything new. My mom always put a plastic sheet on our beds in case and moved on. Thank you for visiting.
Thank you for this blog post and review! My 3.5 year old son has accidents sometimes and I wa getting worried about it. Thi puts my mind at ease!!
I am glad you found this post helpful. Don’t forget to grab your $3 off coupon, if you want to try this option. They have your son’s size.
My brother wet his bed for a long long time, I will always remember those PULL UPS 😉
Yes, those pull ups work great but they don’t make it easy for them to spend the night at their friends house without getting mad fun of. I am so glad that there are new products to make kids feel more confident. Thank you for visiting Gigi.
These are great tips. I’m grateful that my son never wets the bed, even during his toddler days. 🙂
Your very lucky. 😉
Great tips and I didn’t know about this style of good nites–simply GENIUS!!!!
I agree. It is a super idea and hope that this allows children to remain confident especially during sleepovers.
I didn’t know that bedwetting was common in kids as old as 12, but I totally agree that it should never be subject to punishment or ridicule, and can actually make the issue worse with kids.
My son is 14 and still has trouble occasionally due to his medications. Also, I have even heard of adults wetting the bed too. Thank you for visiting Holly.
Bed wetting is a most common issue with many kids. One of my cousin has the same problem. Only after a doctor’s examination, we found that he has some minor issues in kidney. After some basic treatments for few months the kid is perfectly alright. ‘Tru-Fit’ seems to be a great idea for all kids who is struggling with bed wetting.
Yes, if they continually wetting the bed seeing a doctor is a great idea. You never know if a child has a bladder or kidney infection, sometimes they don’t have symptoms or don’t realize that if it hurts to pee that it isn’t normal. Thank you for visiting.
I am really glad I did not have a bed wetting issue with my daughter. My cousin has one with her young son and she has been trying to find ways to help it. I am going to pass your post on, these tips are great!!
Thank you Robyn for sharing this post with your cousin. I hope she finds this information help and encouraging.
The bigger problem that comes with bed wetting kids is they lose their self confidence, helping them out is so important. 🙂
Yes, very true. Thank you for visiting. This post is packed with useful information on how to boast their self confidence.
I like that they’re disposable.
Yes, this makes it easy for them to toss it in the trash so that their friends don’t have a clue that they have issues with bed wetting.
I like that they look like underwear so kids aren’t so embarrassed.
Yes, it is important when they want to go spend the night or have friends over.
I love that they look like real underwear and that they are washable- really cool! We spend so much money on pull-ups and we have another baby on the way. It would be great to get something that we can wash instead and save money! 🙂
Yes, I agree I love that they are washable and look just like real underwear. Don’t forget to grab the coupon and enter the giveaway on the second page.
i am 26 I’ve been a lifelong bed-wetter, i have all the tests The alarm the tablets and everything is getting worse is really embarrassing and affecting my relationship. know man want to be with me if they find out i still bed wet. there was a guy that disgrace me in because i bed wet on his bed ever since then i am doing my possible best to get out of this problem, i opened up to a friend because i really want to make sure i am out of this situation because it was really embarrassing she introduced me to a called DR PETER who helped her cure her herpes years back. i explained how i wake-up and i find i am wet DR PETER ([email protected] or [email protected] ) told me not to cry or worry anymore that he is going to put an end to it. he told me what to do and i followed his instructions and later told me the reason i bed wet and how to put an end to the situation. he prepared a herbal native medicine that i drink for only 5 days and all the bad warm that make me to bed wet were flushed out, this is now the 6 months now DR PETER helped me ever since then i have not come across any bed wet, i am very free when sleeping with my boyfriend thank you once again DR PETER in case you need his urgent help contact his direct email: [email protected] or [email protected]
Yup I can relate to this! And so important to make sure the child isn’t teased or punished for something he/she can’t control…. which could actually make it worse! Im happy that there are solutions for kids these days so they don’t have to feel embarrassed!
