Protect Your Baby From Germs While Shopping By Using a Shopping Cart Cover

Do you want to protect you baby from germs and bacteria that are lurking on the shopping carts?  Most major retailers offer their customers a way to clean the carts with cart wipes but most mom’s know that it is a pain to juggle a baby while attempting to clean off a disgusting shopping cart.  As a mom, I didn’t want to have to worry about my baby chewing or touching the shopping cart while I was picking up the weekly groceries from the supermarket.

Disclosure:  The opinions reflected in this post are my own and may differ from your own opinions.

I invested in a shopping cart cover for my baby so that I didn’t have to worry about what my baby was touching, sitting, or chewing on.  I love how easy it is to use and that it even covered the part of the shopping cart that I also had to touch.  We keep the shopping cart cover in the car because it is a bit bulky and this way I always know where it is when I need to use it.  It is machine washable, so that you can wash/sanitize it on a regular basis.

Surprisingly, I don’t use a shopping cart cover! I always see people in the stores with them but thats one purchase I just never made. I haven’t had an issue with my children chewing on any part of the cart and thankfully neither kid has ever had a bad cold–we’re almost 3 years cold free!

I love mine because I don’t even have to worry about my son touching the icky shopping cart and then putting his hands into his mouth. It also keeps my hands clean as well while grocery shopping.

I used one for Reagan all the time! It was a lifesaver. That thing got used more than any one baby product I think I owned. High chairs, shopping carts … it was awesome!

I had actually bought a pattern to make one before my daughter was born and never made it. After she was born I didn’t have time. I think they are a good idea. I see babies with their mouths on the cart handles all the time. I didn’t take my daughter shopping too much when she was a baby and then as soon as she started walking she refused to ride. I’m the lady pushing a cart while holding my daughters hand as she walks! So, she didn’t have access to all of those germs too often, but if I have kid #2 I am definitely buying one. I am not even going to pretend I might get around to sewing it!

I really do agree that people should use these for their children. I worked a store and we never cleaned them. Thank you for this post.

I loved mine. I can’t imagine how many germs are on the carts after all in the grocery store, we pick up raw meats. EWWWWW. Thankfully most stores are offering the sanitizing wipes, but even with those I still didn’t want my baby unprotected in the cart.

    I don’t have a baby but I clean my cart every-time…. I am a bit of a germ-a-phobe
