A SteamVac is a Great Investment if you Have Young Children or Pets

Child Eating Ice CreamKids are a parents pride and joy; however, they tend to be good at making messes around the house.  I remember when my oldest son was a baby, he was constantly getting into things that he wasn’t supposed to get into the moment you turned your back for a few seconds or he was off making messes in the house that required a steam cleaner.  A steam cleaner in my home was a great investment and it was always available when I wanted to deep clean my entire carpets or to clean up after my children or pet’s accidents.  Most steam cleaners last for many years if you take care of them.  In fact, I have only purchased to steam cleaners since my oldest was born.

Disclosure:  The opinions reflected in this post are my own and your opinions may differ from my own.  I didn’t receive compensation for my opinions, it was written to share my own personal experiences with using my own steam cleaner to clean up my carpets and furniture.

If your carpets are a mess because your child is constantly spilling things on the carpet, or your pet makes a mess I highly recommend that you invest in a personal steam cleaner,  It comes in handy for accidents and regular carpet cleaning.  I love having a steam clean in my home so that I don’t have to run to the store to rent one or shell out hundreds of dollars every 6 months for someone to come into the house to deep clean the carpets.

It can be a little costly —going in on one with a family member who lives close by is the way we did it.

Yes, they are costly. I am normally not a fan of going in with family on a product. I look at it as a long term investment. A company such as Dalworth, usually does 3 rooms for $99 if you can find a coupon. This cost doesn’t even cover your entire house. To me it is well worth the investment.

I haven’t tried out a steam vac before as we don’t really have carpet in the house but it certainly looks like a good investment.

I love having mine. The one I own had a hardwood floor adapter at one point.

Great point – the messes are endless in this house, with wins and a dog!

I can imagine but the messes are worth it. 🙂

We have both, a kid and pets. I’m only grateful that we don’t have carpet so it’s pretty easy to clean up fur when our dog is on his shredding months. My only problem would be the couch that I’m struggling to clean.

I have used our steam cleaner on several occasions on my couches. They tend to get yucky for some reason.

I don’t have a steam cleaner, and we always rent one from down the street. We only have 1 room with carpet, kids are grown and no pets, so for us the renting makes sense.

That makes perfect sense Courtney. 🙂
