Do you ever wish that you had more time to spend doing the things that you enjoy? Instead, of devoting most of your time off to cooking, running errands, and getting the household chores taken care of before bed time or on the weekend. I wanted to share with you 5 simple and easy shortcuts that can easily shave off two hours off your cleaning schedule so that you can spend more time doing the things that you enjoy.
In our household, we always try to make sure that we stay on top of the daily chores so that we don’t wait until we have a ton of laundry, dishes, and other chores to get done during the weekend. I know that I would rather spend my weekend doing the things I enjoy instead of cleaning. On the weekends, it is great to go out do fun things together instead of spending time at home cleaning.
If you have children, don’t be afraid to get them to join in and help with the household chores. When dividing up the chores, you can assign your kids age appropriate chores. Don’t discourage them if they don’t get the chores done perfectly but praise them for attempting to do their assigned chores. For example, I used to fold the laundry when my daughter was 2 or 3 years old. I would ask her to push the basket into her room and to put away her clothes. Sometimes the clothes stayed folded and other times they would come unfolded. She always managed to put her clothes away where they belonged. I did have to show her which drawer the items went in so that she learned the proper place for each type of clothing.

Yes! We are always trying to find ways to cut corners and make our work easier for us!
Thank you for visiting Brittany, I hope these ideas help you get the chores done quickly in your household.
The best tip for me would be to get those dishes done immediately. Of course I do not have a dishwasher-but then yes I do–ME. (I live alone with my cat)
I haven’t gotten my children to figure this one out. They let the food dry on and it is a pain to get stuck on food off unless you end up soaking it for a few hours in soapy water.
Very good tips! I really should be cleaning my bathroom every day…. but I just hate cleaning it.
We have hard water and I really should find a cheap way to clean the bathroom everyday.
I find that having my kids help with the chores, makes them more responsible about things. For example, one day I asked my daughter to help me fill the dishwasher. She picked up a cereal bowl from that morning and the cereal was “glued” to the bowl. She thought it was gross, and then I explained why it happened (because someone hadn’t emptied the bowl into the trash). Now she is more careful about cleaning off her plate because she’s seen what happens otherwise.
