Rocking Chair
I spent a lot of time in my son’s room after he was born and I wanted a comfortable place to sit. We ended up buying a recliner to put in the nursery. It was a great investment because we were able to move it to the living room once my son got a bit older. Plus, it was a great place to breastfeed my son while rocking him.
Diapers
During the first few months, your baby will go through 10 to 14 diapers a day especially if your breastfeeding. I always kept a few packages of newborns and size one diapers. I highly suggest that you don’t open more than a package of newborn diapers until you know that your baby will be small enough to wear the entire package. Of course, depending on your child’s birth weight your baby may not wear newborn diapers at all. If you don’t open the diaper packages, you can return them to the store and exchange them for a bigger size.
Wipes
If you are constantly changing your baby’s diaper, you need plenty of wipes to clean your babies bottom. Some babies have sensitive skin, so I highly suggest that you purchase hypo-allergenic wipes.
Diaper Cream
I remember the frequent diaper changes often caused my kids to get a diaper rash. If I caught it when it first started turning red, I would put a small amount of diaper rash cream on their bottom and 99% of the time it would clear up. My older son ended up getting a yeast infection on his bottom and I had to take him to the doctor to get a special cream for his bottom. So if your child’s diaper rash, doesn’t clear up quickly with diaper rash ointment you may need to take your child to the doctor to rule out other potential problems like a bacterial skin infection or yeast infection.
