He Gave Them Food and Water
He was pretty smart as he put the frogs in shoe boxes and poked holes in them so that they would have an ample amount of oxygen to live. I asked him how he was feeding them? He told me, “That he would go outside and catch bugs for his frogs.” And he would give the bugs to his frogs. The frogs also had water in the boxes.
How Many Frogs Were There?
We figured that he only had a few frogs in his room. I was in shock as we counted the frogs that he took outside. He had 11 frogs and most of them were huge. I am talking the huge toads that flatten out like a pancake when they are attempting to hide.
After he took the frogs out of the house, we made him spray his room with Lysol and disinfect his room.
This is my most memorable birthday so far! So on August 14th, 2010, I had a Hoppy Birthday! I will never forget this moment.
Mom’s beware that boys will be boys and will keep you on your toes.

OMG!! LOL!!! I am surprised you didn’t hear them – what a birthday surprise! I hope this never happens to me with my two boys 😉
I never heard them or had a clue that he even had them in his room. I did know that he had a fascination with the frogs because he would see them outside all of the time and want to go look at them. But I never in a million years would have thought he would have hidden them in his room.
That is HYSTERICAL!! Was he trying to surprise you with the frogs for your birthday??? Or was he just hoarding frogs? Hmmm. Wonder what else he’s hoarding…. Ferrets perhaps?
He wanted to have them as pets. So far I haven’t found him hoarding any other weird things. The only way we found out was when the few escaped. Boys will be boys.

OMG – this is hilarious! I don’t think I would have been able to stomach handling the huge frogs. I commend your son!
I am shocked that he had huge frogs myself. At least the baby ones look somewhat cute.
