A Persistent Fever and Cough Made My Baby Miserable Easter Weekend

I set my alarm to wake up in the middle of the night to check on him.  Again, he was running a high fever so I gave him another dose of fever reducer.  This morning we went to the doctor again so that we could find out what is going on.  The doctor checked him over and was relieved that she didn’t find pneumonia in his lungs, which is what I was suspecting as well since his cough was so bad.  The doctor decided to give him a stronger antibiotic shot that covers a wide range of infections since he is still running a fever after several days worth of antibiotics in his system.

The nurse comes in with the tray and a shot.  Poor baby had no clue what he was getting himself into when he wanted to go to the doctor again this morning.  I put him on the table and laid him down.  The nurse pulls down his pants while mommy is holding his hands down.  Next thing he is screaming and that mean nurse has a needle in the meat of his thigh.  I picked him up after the shot and gave him some mommy snuggles.  Poor baby thought last Thursday was rough.

Hopefully, he is now on the mend and gets to feeling better quickly.  I am thankful that I am not currently working outside the home because I would have some extremely unhappy bosses if I had to take an entire week off from work to tend to a sick child.
