Compares to a Higher End BlueToooth Portable Speaker
Since my initial test I have used the speaker in several places including my home office and my office at my workplace and I really like it. This model is so much more affordable than high end speakers and it sounds really great. It can often last me a full workday on a single charge while playing at low volumes at work. It uses the high quality APT-X codec and can be connected with the included 3.55mm audio cable if you would rather use a cable to connect to your device than Bluetooth. The only drawback I’ve found is that this unit didn’t seem to have a great range when it comes to the Bluetooth connection. I noticed I didn’t make it past 20 feet or so without it starting to lose the signal. This is only a minor issue for most people but I still wanted to mention it here.
You Can Use the Speaker as a Speakerphone
I experienced another feature of this speaker the other day when I was playing music through my phone and it rang. When I answered the phone, the call was directed through the speaker and I was able to talk to the caller hands free. The caller’s voice was very clear and I didn’t find that I had to be super close to the speaker for the caller to be able to hear me.
The Kinivo BTX270 is a quality speaker and I would definitely recommend one to anyone looking at similar speakers that are often higher in price. I’ve found that this one is slowly replacing my other Bluetooth speakers more and more lately.

I think my favorite feature would be that it acts as a speaker phone. Maybe it would be a more consistent quality than my phone’s own system? It’s also cool it plays in stereo.
I found the speakerphone audio to be very clear and the caller seemed to be able to hear me well. It was definitely better than my phones built in speaker.
The main point of attraction is the speaker phone “feature,” especially since I can then use a longer range to do my housework and kitchen tasks while still able to handle calls.
