We celebrated our 7 year anniversary in June and this year we ended up getting to go to Sea World with the kids. Normally, I try to find something special to give my husband so that he knows that he is very special to me. I don’t always like using our normal date night ideas (ie dinner and movie or a staycation) and I think it is fun to keep him guess as to what I plan on doing for him from year to year. Today, I want to share with you some fun and frugal anniversary gifts for your spouse.
Make Your Own Love Coupons
Grab some index cards and make your own vouchers that your spouse can turn in. Use different colors of markers and lettering. Here are a few examples of things you can write on the cards: breakfast in bed, movie night, have a candle light dinner for two, full body massage, pick several shows to watch together (without distractions such as cell phones), pick a chore to do for your spouse, etc.
Leave Love Notes Around the House
You don’t have to wait for your anniversary to use this idea. Leave your spouse random love notes around the house. Here are a few places where you can leave your spouse a note: in the car, lunch box, sock drawer, in his shoe, etc. You can check out these ecards for your anniversary for some inspiration!
Personalize Their Favorite Mug or Cup
Grab their favorite mug or cup preferably a solid colored one. Get some liquid chalk markers and find a Wedding Anniversary Wishes. Once you find your favorite quote, hand write it on your spouse’s favorite mug or cup. If they don’t have one, you can pick one up at the dollar store.
Go the extra mile and include in a meaningful phone case. Design a special phone case to give as a gift to your spouse for her birthday or a special occasion. You can create a unique design using important moments, photos, or even promises and symbols that are important to both of you. Your other half is sure to love the heartwarming present that they can take wherever they go.
Printable Snack Notes
Pick out a few of your spouse’s favorite snacks or candy. There are a ton of printable love notes that you can attach to the snacks. You can even take it a step further and turn it into a scavenger hunt too!
Bake a Heart Shaped Cake

For this project you will need a small square cake pan and a round cake pan. Bake the cakes according the package directions. Then once the cakes cool off, simple cut the round cake in half. Then place the two halves on both sides of the square cake. You can use icing to hold the cakes together. Then add icing to the cake and decorate. You can even add one of your favorite love quotes on top of the cake. If you can’t the quote on the cake, you can print it out and set the note next to the cake.

These are great suggestions. I remember when we were first married and had literally not a dollar, things like these were the answer to the gift problem.
